 31 maart 2011 Lezing Tashi Norbu Heemstede


De Tibetaanse kunstenaar Tashi Norbu komt een lezing geven over Tibet rituelen bij Casca de Luifel aan de Herenweg in Heemstede. Tashi Norbu is opgegroeid in Bhutan en leeft nu samen met een groep Tibetanen in Nederland. Tijdens deze lezing laat Tashi op een levendige en aansprekende manier beelden zien over hoe deze jongste generatie Tibetanen in Nederland hun plek veroveren en hoe zij tegelijkertijd hun cultuur met anderen delen. Ook zal hij een Tibetaans Boeddhistische ceremonie uitvoeren.
Onderdeel van dit ritueel is het reciteren van Tara-mantra's. Tara is de machtigste van alle Tibetaanse godinnen. Vervolgens schildert Tashi verschillende boeddha-figuren en geeft uitleg over wat hij gemaakt heeft. Tijdens de avond is er gelegenheid om de schilderijen die hij maakt te kopen.

 9 en 10 april 2011 Workshops mandala en buddha schilderen in Heemstede


Er zullen op die dagen twee soorten workshops aangeboden worden door Tashi Norbu. Hij zal die twee dagen de mogelijkheid bieden om een Boeddha te schilderen of een mandala te schilderen via een oorspronkelijk Tibetaans patroon. Daar omheen zal hij van alles laten zien en horen. Ik heb al een workshop meegemaakt en was zeer onder de indruk.

Op beide dagen worden beide workshops aangeboden. Er zijn per dag ongeveer 20 plaatsen beschikbaar.

Ausstellung, Sandmandala, Gesänge, Aktivitäten rund ums Bild…..



Tashi Norbu wurde 1974 als Kind tibetischer Flüchtlinge in Bhutan geboren. Nach Beendigung der Schule absolvierte er bei einem der am höchst respektierten Thangka-Maler, Sangye Yeshe, eine Ausbildung in der Kunst der religiösen Malerei. Als Thangka-Maler hat Tashi Norbu unter anderem für das Private Büro Seiner Heiligkeit, 14. Dalai Lama, in Dharamsala gearbeitet. In Belgien hat er vier Jahre lang an der Sint Lucas Akademie für Bildende Kunst studiert. Mit seinen Bildern von außergewöhnlicher Komposition schlägt Tashi Norbu einen einzigartigen Bogen zwischen traditioneller tibetischer Thangkamalerei und moderner Kunst, die den nerv der westlichen Betrachter treffen. www.tashinorbu.be



Parallel zur Ausstellung seiner Bilder können die Besucher der “Weitsicht” das Entstehen und die anschließende rituelle Auflösung eines Sandmandalas verfolgen. An diesem Wochenende wird der Schutzkreis des Buddha des Mitgefühls, Avalokiteshvara, der durch den Dalai Lama verkörpert wird, im Foyer des Darmstadtiums von mehreren ausgebildeten Tibetern aus unzähligen, gefärbten Sandkörnern gestreut. Am Schluss der Zeremonie am Sonntag gegen 16 Uhr können die Besucher gegen eine kleine Spende einen Teil des Mandalas mit nach Hause nehmen.

JACQUES MARCHAIS MUSEUM OF TIBETAN ART present sand mandala demonstration with Tibetan artist Tashi Norbu

Join us at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art beginning Sunday June 26, 2011 through Saturday, July 2, 2011 for a week long sand mandala demonstration with Tibetan Artist, Tashi Norbu.
The Museum will be open the entire week from the hours of 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM so that visitors may see the process of creating a mandala.
The word mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning "circle." Mandalas are concentric diagrams with spiritual and ritual significance in both Buddhism and Hinduism. They are used as spiritual teaching tools, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid in meditation.

Tibetan artist, Tashi Norbu studied traditional Tibetan painting at one of the monasteries of the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India and studied at the Art Academy in Belgium. He is an artist in residence at Tibet House Holland and has exhibited his art worldwide.

Na de succesvolle eerste editie vindt zaterdagmiddag 4 juni in het Amsterdamse Oosterpark de tweede Europese Change Your Mind Day plaats. In vier tenten kan iedereen dan gratis mediteren onder leiding van ervaren leraren.
Verder zijn er (muzikale) optredens, massages, stands met boeken en cd's en demonstraties yoga en tai chi. De gastvrouw is schrijfster Susan Smit. Niemand hoeft zich te vervelen, en kinderen zijn meer dan welkom!

Learn the scared are of Tibetan Mandala Painting Workshop led by international artist Tashi Norbu.
Shiva Shanti is proud to support and offer our community the opportunity to produce Tibetan art under the direction of dedicated artist and talented Tashi Norbu. Thangkas are sacred Buddhist painting and is a spiritual artform that Buddhists use to represent gods, goddesses, mandalas and historical figures. Each deity has geometric measures accuratlly, researched and written in ancient manuscripts. These measures are based for example, in astrology, in the human body, the dimensions of various types of paradise and other calculations that are secret. The accuracy of the lines and the size of the images that have great symbolic importance, but also their colors, the position of the body and hands, the instruments appear and offerings given, guard symbolic values

In this workshop you will learn:
• The soothing act of painting the face of buddha.
• We would like people learn more about this art directly from a Tibetian artist and also learn the beautiful rituals that go with it.
• Tashi will teach you in one afternoon how to paint a traditional Tibetan Mandala painting, or the face of Buddha.
• A Tibetan mandala is a way to gather wisdom and compassion and is a balanced geometric composition that evokes the deities.
• You'll discover traditional Tibetan painting, symbolism and philosophy.
• You learn how d.m.v. mathematical calculations Buddha's face to draw and paint.
• You get guidance in translating the acquired knowledge on the canvas.
• At the end of the day you have a beautiful canvas painted by yourself that you can take home.
• The afternoon starts and ends with a special ritual.

Born with a genuine painting talent, Tashi Norbu (1974) works non-stop to preserve his imprint of the Tibetan culture, so dear to him, in contemporary art. Educated as a traditional Tibetan painter, Tashi ended up receiving teachings in the monastery of H.H. the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India. He wished though to decipher Western modern art as well. In Ghent Tashi studied Visual Arts at Sint Lucas Academie voor beeldende kunst (Sint Lucas Academy of Visual Arts), as part of a Higher Education study course on Science and Arts. During his four years long study course and while working in the Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst - SMAK (Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art) in Ghent he was able to intimately admire and actually hold in his hands the most important expressions of contemporary art thanks to the guidance of Jan Hoet. In the meantime Tibetan Buddhist thangkas, mandalas and sutras inspire the political painting refugee Tashi Norbu as much as the expressionistic Art of Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol. Both inspiration sources are intertwined by the artist in his monumental canvas, where Buddha or a reference to him are ever present. Tashi Norbu reflects the contemporary spirit of one world, one peace and individual responsibility for our modern culture in each work produced by his hand. He applies a collage technique typical of the Abstract Expressionism of the 50s, but he glues on his canvas such self absorbing elements that meditation becomes unavoidable while observing his work. It is not the new Yorker hellish society of Rauschenberg and Warhol but the silent equilibrium of Tibet and of H.H. the Dalai Lama that predominates Tashi Norbu’s work.
